I would
| July 5th, 2009 by thehaydenI would, take my finger tips and touch the dew drops of happiness,
Then with it smear a smile on your face.
I would, eat the sun for it’s warmth and wipe my lips with the clouds,
Just to be the sunrise for your tomorrow.
I would, peal through the ocean’s depths to find your forsaken wish,
With no battle of function I would.
I would, fetch all the butterflies in the world and squeeze them into my heart,
Then we’d fly away to yesterday’s future.
I would, count the stars in the heavens twelve times over,
If on me it would make you count.
I would, inhale your breath so sweet as it collides everlasting in mind.
Where it now sits is beyond the reach of the hands of time.

Reflection
Most of us have at the least one person that we’d do anything for, to ensure their safety and happiness. Who is that person or who are those persons for you? Mother, Father, Wife, Brother, Sister, etc? Be sure to let them know by your actions and not just by words.

Hayden,
“I Would” is another very nice poem – you have a great “touch” with words. I read the “about Hayden” in your blog. Art and technology is an interesting mix – there’s something similar between the two I guess and something so different too.
I studied music theory and composition in school but the practical side of me entered into a systems programming job that led to a 25 year career away from the arts. I didn’t start painting until 1998 after I retired.
Anyway, I enjoy your writing – learned of it of course via your tweets.
Later,
John
Thanks John! It is for certain an interesting mix… art and tech. For me, esp during troubled times, its an outlet that keeps me able.
